Fitchburg police are investigating a weapons violation after a victim was injured near Post Road. Officials confirm there is no threat to the public.

Fitchburg, WI – Police are investigating a weapons violation that occurred at the intersection of Post Road and Index Road early September 3, 2026. The incident, which took place around 1:42 AM, resulted in one victim being transported to a local hospital for treatment.
According to the Fitchburg Police Department, there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time. As part of the investigation, Post Road remains closed to traffic between Index Road and Fish Hatchery Road.
