Fitchburg, WI – Local authorities are investigating a weapons violation that took place early today at the intersection of Post Road and Index Road.
According to the Fitchburg Police Department, the incident occurred on September 3, 2026. A victim was transported to a hospital for treatment following the event. While the investigation remains ongoing, officials have confirmed there is no threat to the general public.
In response to the investigation, police have closed Post Road between Index Road and Fish Hatchery Road. Commuters are advised to avoid the area while the site is processed.
