Fitchburg Police Investigate September 3 Attempted Homicide on Post Road
Fitchburg police are investigating an attempted homicide after a 21 year old male was found with gunshot wounds on Post Road early Thursday morning.

Fitchburg, WI – The Fitchburg Police Department is investigating an attempted homicide that took place early Thursday, September 3, 2026. Officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 1400 block of Post Road at approximately 1:40 a.m.
According to the Fitchburg Police Department , a 21 year old male was discovered inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and are actively seeking information from the public to assist in the ongoing investigation. Witnesses who may have seen anything suspicious in the area of the 1400 block of Post Road are encouraged to come forward.
