Charleston, WV – Clouds will dominate much of West Virginia this weekend, while the mountains face chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms through Sunday.
According to the National Weather Service in Charleston, gloomy conditions are expected across much of the region, but precipitation will be concentrated mainly in the mountains. Lowland locations should remain cloudy, with some sunshine possible Saturday along and northwest of the Ohio River.
Mountain areas have a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms Saturday, with daytime temperatures generally in the 50s and 60s.
Rain chances increase in the mountains Saturday night. The NWS expects scattered showers along with isolated thunderstorms, while temperatures fall into the 40s and 50s.
The lowlands should remain cloudy Saturday night, with temperatures generally in the 50s and 60s.
Similar conditions continue Sunday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms remain possible across the mountains, where temperatures will again range through the 50s and 60s.
Lowland communities are expected to stay cloudy Sunday, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s. The NWS graphic does not indicate thunderstorms or significant rainfall for the lowlands during the day.
