Spokane Valley, WA – Spokane County investigators are asking for the public's help identifying a vehicle and driver after a pedestrian was struck in a hit and run Thursday evening in Spokane Valley, east of Spokane.
According to the Spokane County Sheriff 's Office, deputies responded at approximately 6:40 p.m. Thursday to the 15000 block of East 24th Avenue, west of South Progress Road, following a report that a vehicle had struck an adult male pedestrian.
Witnesses told investigators the suspect vehicle allegedly fled east on 24th Avenue toward Sullivan Road before turning south onto Progress Road.
Spokane Valley firefighters treated the pedestrian at the scene before he was transported to a hospital. The Sheriff's Office said his injuries were believed to be non life threatening.
Because of the seriousness of the collision, Traffic Unit investigators responded to the scene. Sheriff's Office volunteers also assisted with traffic control while authorities investigated and searched the surrounding area.
Investigators are now attempting to locate a gray or silver four door sedan, possibly a Buick. The Sheriff's Office released images showing the vehicle investigators are trying to identify. Authorities said the vehicle should have damage to its front end.
Deputies are also working to identify the driver and determine whether anyone else was inside the vehicle when the collision occurred.
