A University of Washington study observed 6–11 year olds playing with AI enabled plush toys to see how children interact with memory capable, conversational devices. Kids showed curiosity, frustration and teasing when toys misheard or faltered. Results flag risks—wrong answers, excessive flattery, potential attachment—and offer design and safety lessons for parents and policymakers.
