Spokane County, WA – A Washington woman is facing multiple charges after deputies say she allegedly drove recklessly, attempted to strike a juvenile, and later tried to enter a stranger’s home.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 6:05 p.m. on April 28, 2026, to reports of an aggressive driver in the 7500 block of South Fruitvale Road. Authorities say the suspect allegedly drove onto a sidewalk and attempted to hit a juvenile riding a dirt bike, then chased the child before leaving the area.

Investigators later identified the driver as 56-year-old Wendy A. Clemente and began searching for her vehicle.

Roughly 25 minutes later, deputies were called to a separate report of a possible burglary in the 10700 block of West Melville Road. A homeowner monitoring a security system reported a suspect attempting to open doors at the residence.

Deputies located Clemente at the scene and took her into custody. Officials say she initially denied drinking but later allegedly admitted to consuming alcohol. During the arrest, she reportedly resisted and attempted to kick a deputy.

Clemente was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges including attempted first-degree assault, DUI, and first-degree criminal trespass. She was later released on her own recognizance following a court appearance.

No injuries were reported in either incident. The case remains under investigation.
