Virginia Missing Man: 78-Year-Old Last Seen in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, VA – A search is underway Tuesday for a 78 year old Virginia Beach man after authorities said he walked away from his home Monday evening and is considered critically missing.
According to Virginia State Police, a Critically Missing Adult notification was issued Monday night on behalf of the Virginia Beach Police Department for Steven Edward Wilkins. Authorities said his disappearance poses a credible threat to his health and safety.
Wilkins was last seen around 7:30 p.m. Monday walking away from his residence on Kings Arms Drive in Virginia Beach, part of the Hampton Roads region of southeastern Virginia.
Police described Wilkins as a 78 year old white man who is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 236 pounds. He has blue eyes and white hair.
Authorities said Wilkins may have been wearing khaki pants, a white T shirt, a light brown jacket and a white baseball cap when he disappeared.
Virginia State Police issued the missing adult notification at approximately 9 p.m. Monday. The agency's bulletin includes a photograph of Wilkins and urges members of the public to be on the lookout for him.
Anyone who sees Wilkins or has information about his whereabouts should contact the Virginia Beach Police Department's 24 hour dispatch center at 757 385 5000. The official bulletin also instructs anyone who sees him to call 911.
Authorities had not provided additional information in the bulletin about where Wilkins may have been headed after leaving his residence.
