Richmond, VA – A chilly Monday morning across central and eastern Virginia will give way to a noticeable November warmup, with afternoon temperatures potentially approaching 80 degrees by Wednesday as a stretch of pleasant fall weather continues.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, high pressure will remain in control of the region's weather through midweek, bringing generally dry conditions, light winds and steadily rising temperatures.
Monday, November 2, will feature afternoon highs between 66 and 70 degrees , with clouds lingering across much of the region. Easterly winds near 5 mph will accompany the mild afternoon conditions following the chilly morning start.
Temperatures will climb further Tuesday, November 3, with highs expected to reach 72 to 75 degrees . Partly sunny skies and southeast winds around 5 mph should make for another comfortable November afternoon.
The biggest warmup arrives Wednesday, November 4, when afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach 75 to 80 degrees across portions of the Wakefield forecast area, including communities around Richmond and southeastern Virginia.
Southerly winds between 5 and 10 mph will accompany the warmer conditions.
The forecast represents a significant change from Monday morning's chilly temperatures, giving residents an opportunity to enjoy warmer outdoor conditions before the week ends.
Despite the mild pattern, forecasters are monitoring a possible brief period of rain later this week. However, confidence remains low, and the timing and coverage of any precipitation remain uncertain.
Residents planning outdoor activities should also keep shorter daylight hours in mind. The National Weather Service notes that sunset Monday will occur around 5:10 p.m. in the forecast area.
For now, the outlook favors a comfortable start to November, with warmer afternoons and limited rain chances through midweek.
