Richmond, VA – An unusually mild start to November is unfolding across eastern Virginia, with temperatures expected to climb into the mid to upper 70s Tuesday, Nov. 3, and Wednesday, Nov. 4, bringing several days of pleasant fall weather to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, high pressure will remain in control through the middle of the week, producing generally dry conditions, passing clouds and light winds across Richmond, Hampton Roads and surrounding communities.
Sunday, Nov. 1, begins with afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Partly sunny skies and east northeast winds of 5 to 10 mph will accompany the mild conditions.
Similar weather continues Monday, Nov. 2, with highs again reaching the mid to upper 60s. Winds will remain light, generally from the east around 5 mph.
A noticeable warmup arrives Tuesday, Nov. 3, as temperatures climb into the middle 70s under mostly sunny skies. East southeast winds around 5 mph are expected, making for comfortable outdoor conditions.
By Wednesday, Nov. 4, afternoon highs could reach the mid to upper 70s, marking the warmest portion of the four day outlook. Southeast winds of 5 to 10 mph will accompany passing clouds and continued mild weather.
The extended stretch of calm conditions should provide favorable travel weather across major routes, including Interstate 64 and Interstate 95, with no significant weather related disruptions indicated in the forecast.
Meanwhile, daylight saving time ends Sunday, Nov. 1, at 2 a.m., when clocks move backward one hour. Residents should remember that sunset will occur earlier by the clock Sunday evening.
The National Weather Service expects high pressure to maintain pleasant weather through midweek, offering residents several opportunities for outdoor activities before any potential changes later in November.
Residents should continue monitoring updated local forecasts for temperature changes and developing weather systems.
