Burlington, VT — Residents across Vermont can look forward to another stretch of pleasant fall weather as mostly clear skies and abundant sunshine continue through Sunday, Oct. 25, creating favorable conditions for outdoor activities and weekend travel.
According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, a weak frontal boundary will bring some temporary cloud cover Thursday morning before clearing conditions return during the afternoon. The generally sunny weather pattern is expected to continue into the weekend.
Thursday afternoon will feature increasingly clear skies across much of Vermont, including Burlington, Montpelier, Middlebury, Stowe and Rutland.
The National Weather Service's sky cover forecast indicates that many communities will experience less than 15% cloud coverage during portions of Thursday afternoon, although some northern locations may see more clouds initially.
Friday, Oct. 23, is expected to bring particularly clear conditions.
Burlington's forecast shows cloud coverage dropping to approximately 3% during the afternoon, while Montpelier, Middlebury and Rutland are also projected to experience mostly clear skies.
Saturday, Oct. 24, may begin with some scattered clouds, especially during the overnight and early morning hours.
However, sunshine should become increasingly widespread by Saturday afternoon as cloud coverage decreases across the region.
By Sunday, Oct. 25, the favorable weather pattern is expected to continue.
Forecast cloud coverage remains generally below 15% across many Vermont communities throughout the day, suggesting another mostly sunny afternoon.
The extended period of clear weather could provide excellent opportunities for hiking, scenic drives, community events and other outdoor fall activities.
Similar conditions are also forecast for portions of northern New York, including Plattsburgh, Malone and Massena.
Residents planning weekend activities should continue checking local forecasts for temperature changes and any updated weather information.
