San Antonio, TX – A soaking stretch of November weather is unfolding across South Central Texas, with thunderstorms and localized flooding concerns extending into the new workweek.
According to the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio office, showers and possible thunderstorms will continue Sunday, Nov. 8, with rainfall chances reaching 100%.
Temperatures will struggle to climb beyond 63 degrees, while northeast winds around 15 mph could gust to 30 mph.
The combination of wet roads, persistent rain and occasional stronger wind gusts could make travel uncomfortable along Interstate 10, Interstate 35 and Loop 410.
Heavy Rain Threat Continues Into Monday The National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center identifies southern Texas under a Level 2 of 4 Slight Risk for excessive rainfall Sunday.
Several inches of rain are possible across the broader southern Texas region, raising concerns about scattered flash flooding.
That regional outlook does not mean every San Antonio neighborhood will receive several inches.
However, the local forecast calls for additional rainfall between one half and three quarters of an inch Sunday night.
Showers remain likely through Monday, with precipitation chances reaching 100% and temperatures near 65 degrees.
Drivers should avoid flooded roadways and allow extra travel time, especially where water collects in low lying streets and underpasses.
Never attempt to cross a flooded road.
Rain Chances Begin Falling Tuesday By Tuesday, Nov. 10, the weather pattern begins improving.

A slight chance of showers remains Tuesday evening before conditions become mostly cloudy.
Veterans Day Brings Warmer Temperatures Wednesday, Nov. 11, looks considerably more comfortable.
The National Weather Service expects mostly cloudy skies and temperatures near 75 degrees for Veterans Day.
That would represent a 12 degree increase from Sunday's expected high.
Residents planning outdoor ceremonies, family activities or regional travel should find better conditions than those expected earlier in the week.
Thursday brings another high near 75 degrees, with mostly sunny skies.
Dry Weather Returns Before the Weekend The improvement continues Friday, with sunshine and highs near 71 degrees.
Morning temperatures will become cooler, falling into the lower 50s by Friday.
