HUMBLE, TX – A recreational softball game turned deadly Sunday night, October 18, when an argument between participants escalated into a shooting at a neighborhood sports complex in northeast Harris County, leaving one man dead and three others wounded.
According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies responded to reports of gunfire at a sports complex in the 19400 block of Fall Creek View Drive, near Wilson Road and North Sam Houston Parkway in the Humble area.
Preliminary findings indicate two groups were participating in a softball game when an argument broke out among participants.
Authorities said the confrontation later moved into the parking lot, where gunfire erupted, striking four individuals.
An adult man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been publicly disclosed in the sheriff's initial statement.
Three additional victims, identified as two women and one man, suffered gunshot wounds. All three are expected to survive, according to investigators.

As of the sheriff's Monday morning update, no charges had been filed, and authorities had not announced any arrests.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident involving individuals at the sports complex and do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the surrounding community.
Sheriff Gonzalez described the violence as a tragic outcome to what should have been an evening of recreation and friendly competition.
