DALLAS — November will open unusually warm across North Texas, with Dallas temperatures climbing into the mid 80s Sunday and Monday before showers and thunderstorms arrive Monday night and a cooler pattern takes hold Tuesday.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for patchy fog early Sunday, Nov. 1, followed by partly sunny skies and a high near 84 degrees . Sunday night remains very mild near 66 before Monday becomes even warmer.
86° Monday Before Storms Monday, Nov. 2, is expected to reach around 86 degrees under partly sunny skies.
South winds increase to 15–20 mph during the afternoon, with gusts potentially reaching 35 mph . That warm, breezy setup precedes a significant change Monday night.
Showers become likely after dark, with thunderstorms also possible after 9 p.m. The Weather Service places precipitation chances at 90% , while south winds could continue gusting near 30 mph. Temperatures only fall to around 65.
Cooler Air Arrives Tuesday Tuesday marks a noticeable change behind the system.
Dallas carries only a 20% morning shower chance before skies become mostly sunny. The high reaches around 76 degrees , approximately 10 degrees cooler than Monday.
Tuesday night falls sharply to around 54 before Wednesday turns sunny with a high near 74. Wednesday night cools further to around 52.
Thursday briefly rebounds to around 76 with only a 20% morning shower chance. Friday reaches about 73, followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 75 Saturday.
That gives Dallas a clear first week progression: 84 Sunday, 86 Monday, storms Monday night, then mainly mid 70s Tuesday through Saturday.
Warm, Wetter Pattern Favored Nov. 8–14 The cooler first week turn does not necessarily signal sustained cold.
NOAA's Nov. 8–14 outlook favors above normal temperatures across Texas while also favoring above normal precipitation across substantial portions of the state.
The precipitation signal is especially notable because much of Texas retains a wetter than normal tendency into the second week of November.
That does not mean Dallas will see rain every day from Nov. 8–14 or return to 86 degree highs. The CPC outlook describes average temperatures and total precipitation across the entire seven day period.
For Dallas, the immediate story remains more concrete: mid 80s warmth through Monday, a 90% storm chance Monday night, then a cooler stretch in the 70s through Nov. 7.
As Thanksgiving and holiday travel season approach, the next question will be whether North Texas warmth and a wetter pattern persist deeper into November.
