Dallas, TX – Halloween plans across North Texas are getting a favorable weather update as rain is expected to move out before trick or treating begins Saturday evening, October 31. Families can expect mild temperatures, mostly cloudy skies and light winds before clocks fall back early Sunday, November 1.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, additional light to moderate rain will spread northeast across the region Friday and continue intermittently through Saturday. Isolated thunderstorms are possible, but severe weather is not expected.
Halloween Rain Expected to End Before Evening Activities
Forecasters expect Saturday's rain to gradually exit northeastward during the afternoon, leaving much of North and Central Texas dry by evening.
Temperatures will begin the evening mainly in the 70s before cooling into the 60s overnight. Winds should remain light, generally at 5 mph or less.
In Dallas and Fort Worth, temperatures are forecast near 75 degrees at 5 p.m., dropping to approximately 71 degrees by 8 p.m. and 67 degrees by 11 p.m.
Other communities, including Arlington, Waco, Sherman and Killeen, can expect similarly mild conditions, although exact temperatures will vary.
Sunset across North and Central Texas is expected between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. Saturday, meaning families should prepare for darkness during evening trick or treating.
Clocks Fall Back as November Begins
Daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 1, when clocks move backward one hour to 1 a.m.
Residents will gain an extra hour overnight, but sunsets will occur earlier by the clock beginning Sunday evening.
While rain could affect outdoor plans earlier Saturday, the latest forecast suggests trick or treating conditions will improve significantly by evening.
Residents should continue monitoring weather updates, particularly if isolated thunderstorms develop before the rain exits.
