Dallas, Texas – Highs remain in the mid 90s across Dallas Fort Worth through Sunday, with an elevated grass fire threat returning Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, temperatures will remain above average as autumn begins, with daily highs generally in the mid 90s and lows in the low to mid 70s. Rain and thunderstorm chances return Sunday into next week.
Dallas Fort Worth reaches 96 degrees Wednesday, followed by 95 Thursday and 94 Friday. Temperatures climb back to 96 Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows range from 73 to 76 degrees through the period. The normal high for DFW is 87, with a normal low of 66.
Hotter conditions are expected around Waco, Killeen and Temple. Wednesday's high reaches 98 degrees, followed by 97 Thursday, 96 Friday, 97 Saturday and 96 Sunday. Normal highs are 89 in Waco and 88 in Killeen.
Sherman and Denison will be slightly cooler through much of the week, with highs of 94 Wednesday, 93 Thursday and 92 Friday. Temperatures rebound to 94 Saturday and 96 Sunday.
The Weather Service also expects an elevated grass fire threat to return Thursday. Residents should check local burn bans, stay hydrated and use sun protection while spending time outdoors.
Little temperature relief is indicated through the weekend. The next notable change arrives Sunday, when rain and thunderstorm chances begin returning to North Texas and continue into next week.
