Austin, TX – Seasonable temperatures and clearing skies are expected across South Central Texas Monday, followed by a mostly dry stretch with Austin area highs staying in the 80s through the coming week.
According to the National Weather Service Austin San Antonio office, cloud cover will decrease Monday while breezy north to northeast winds develop across much of the region. Monday highs are forecast from 82 to 87 degrees along the Interstate 35 corridor, while the Rio Grande Plains could reach 90.
For Austin, Tuesday's high is forecast near 85 degrees, followed by 87 Wednesday and 83 Thursday. Highs then reach 87 Friday, 86 Saturday and 87 Sunday before settling near 86 Monday, Oct. 12.
Overnight temperatures in Austin remain mild. Lows are forecast near 68 Tuesday, 67 Wednesday, 69 Thursday and 70 Friday. Weekend lows should remain in the upper 60s.
Rain chances are generally low. Austin has no measurable precipitation chance listed Tuesday or Wednesday, followed by a 10% chance Thursday and 15% Friday. Chances fall to 5% Saturday and Sunday before returning to 15% Monday.
Hotter conditions are forecast farther west. Del Rio is expected to reach 91 Tuesday and 92 Wednesday, while Uvalde could reach 90 both days.
The forecast does show somewhat higher rain chances in a few locations later in the week. Del Rio and Kerrville have maximum precipitation probabilities reaching 30% Friday, but those probabilities should not be applied to Austin.
Austin residents should expect clearing and dry conditions Monday, followed by mostly warm weather through the week with only limited opportunities for rain.
