Cloud Cover and Fog Alert Amarillo, TX – A rare “Blood Moon” total lunar eclipse will be visible early Tuesday morning across the Texas Panhandle, but cloud cover and fog could complicate viewing conditions for residents hoping to catch a glimpse of the celestial event.
Meteorologists are tracking a weather system moving through the region, which is expected to increase cloud density in the pre dawn hours. In addition to potential cloud cover, patchy fog is forecast to develop, particularly in low lying areas, which may further obscure the moon.
What to Expect The total lunar eclipse, known as a "Blood Moon" because of the deep reddish hue the moon takes on during the peak of totality, is scheduled to occur during the early morning hours on Tuesday.
