Nashville, TN – Rain chances return to Middle Tennessee beginning Friday, while temperatures trend cooler through the weekend and into early next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, Thursday will remain sunny to mostly sunny, with afternoon highs ranging from 84 to 95 degrees across the region.
Conditions begin changing Friday. Rain chances range from 50% to 80% across Middle Tennessee, with morning lows from 65 to 74 degrees and afternoon highs between 78 and 89 degrees.
The cooling trend becomes more noticeable Saturday. The NWS shows rain chances of 40% to 70%, morning lows from 61 to 66 degrees and highs ranging from 72 to 80 degrees.
Rain remains possible Sunday, with probabilities ranging from 30% to 80% depending on location. Sunday morning temperatures are forecast to fall into the 60 to 66 degree range, while afternoon highs are expected to reach only 73 to 78 degrees.
Those probability ranges apply across the broader Middle Tennessee forecast area, meaning individual communities could have substantially different chances of receiving rain during the weekend.
The NWS update does not specify expected rainfall totals. It also does not indicate that rain will continue throughout the entire weekend; instead, it shows varying chances each day from Friday through Sunday.
The shift will bring a significant temperature change from Thursday’s late season warmth, when some locations could still reach the middle 90s.
Temperatures are expected to continue cooling into the beginning of the work week next week. Residents should monitor updated NWS Nashville forecasts as the timing and location of weekend rain become clearer.
