Nashville, TN – Middle Tennessee faces a dry and increasingly warm week from Oct. 5 9, with highs reaching the 80s before a chance of rain returns Saturday.
The National Weather Service in Nashville said Sunday that dry weather is expected throughout the workweek. Nights will remain relatively cool, while afternoons become warmer toward the middle and end of the week.
Monday is forecast to be dry with highs ranging from 75 to 80 degrees across Middle Tennessee. Overnight lows should fall to between 45 and 51 degrees.
Sunshine and warmer temperatures follow Tuesday, when highs are expected to reach 78 to 82. Wednesday and Thursday could bring a wider range of temperatures across the region, with highs from 79 to 86 degrees.
Friday is forecast to be the warmest day shown in the NWS seven day outlook. Highs could range from 80 to 87 degrees, with no rain expected.
The next opportunity for rainfall arrives Saturday, Oct. 10. The NWS shows a 20% to 30% chance of precipitation across Middle Tennessee, with highs ranging from 77 to 86 degrees. That remains a relatively low chance several days out, so rain is not certain.
The dry stretch comes as drought conditions continue in parts of the region. The NWS said previous rainfall brought only minimal improvement to drought conditions.
For the week ahead, the main forecast trend is several consecutive dry days and increasingly warm afternoons. Attention then turns to whether Saturday's low rain chances increase as the weekend approaches.
