Nashville, TN – Nashville police are seeking information after an 18 year old man was critically wounded in a shooting early Saturday in the parking lot of a South Nashville strip business center.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department , the shooting occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, near the intersection of Haywood Lane and Apache Trail. Police identified the victim as Olman Alvarez Garcia .
Investigators said Alvarez Garcia remained in life threatening condition at Skyline Medical Center when the department issued its update. Police initially said the victim was from Central America and that efforts were underway to locate his relatives. Authorities later announced that his parents had been located in Honduras.
The investigation indicates that after the shooting, Alvarez Garcia was driven from the strip center to a residence on Kirby Avenue, police said.
From there, authorities said he was transported in another vehicle to Southern Hills Medical Center. He was later transferred by helicopter to Skyline Medical Center because of the severity of his injuries.
Due to Alvarez Garcia's very critical condition, the department's Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Police did not announce an arrest or release information identifying a suspected shooter in the statement.
Detectives are working to determine what led to the gunfire and are asking anyone with information about the shooting or events leading up to it to come forward.
