Memphis, TN – Halloween celebrations across the Mid South could face increasing rainfall concerns as warmer than normal temperatures settle across the region ahead of Saturday, October 31. Families preparing for trick or treating, fall festivals and outdoor gatherings may want to monitor changing weather conditions as the holiday approaches.
According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Climate Prediction Center, the October 27–31 outlook favors above normal temperatures across Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi, while precipitation probabilities suggest a wetter pattern developing across western portions of the region.
Warmer Halloween Weather Expected
Memphis, Nashville, Little Rock, Jonesboro, Jackson and Tupelo are positioned within areas favoring above average temperatures during the five day period.
NOAA's temperature outlook indicates a 50% to 70% probability of above normal temperatures across portions of the Mid South.
The warmer pattern could make afternoon Halloween celebrations more comfortable than usual, although evening temperatures will depend on local conditions.
Rain Chances Increase Toward the West
The precipitation outlook shows an important difference across the region.
Arkansas and western portions of the Mid South lean toward above normal precipitation, with the wetter signal extending westward into Oklahoma and Texas.
Meanwhile, much of Tennessee and Mississippi remains closer to near normal precipitation expectations.
For Little Rock and communities across Arkansas, the outlook raises concerns about potentially unsettled weather during the Halloween period.
Memphis sits closer to the transition between wetter and near normal conditions.
Will Halloween Night Stay Dry?
With Halloween falling on Saturday, families should prepare for the possibility of showers, especially across western portions of the region.
However, above normal precipitation during October 27–31 does not guarantee rainfall on Halloween itself.
Updated forecasts will help determine whether showers could interfere with evening activities.
For now, warmer weather appears favored across the Mid South, while the greatest rainfall concerns are concentrated farther west.
