Memphis, TN – Halloween plans across the Mid South could face a slight chance of rain Saturday, October 31, although the latest forecast suggests most of the upcoming week will remain warm and dry. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 70s and lower 80s before a potential weather change arrives during the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, an updated forecast issued Saturday evening, October 24, indicates mild and dry conditions will dominate much of western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas and northern Mississippi through Friday.
Daytime highs across the region are expected to remain mainly in the middle 70s to lower 80s, with overnight temperatures generally falling into the middle 40s to middle 50s.
In Memphis, afternoon highs are forecast near 79 degrees Sunday, 77 degrees Monday and 76 degrees Tuesday before climbing back to approximately 80 degrees Thursday. Halloween Saturday is expected to reach around 79 degrees.
The forecast currently shows only a 30% chance of precipitation in Memphis on Halloween.
Other Mid South communities, including Jackson, Tennessee; Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Tupelo, Mississippi, are also expected to experience mostly dry conditions throughout the workweek.
Rain chances for Saturday vary across the region, with approximately 35% in Jonesboro, 30% in Tupelo and 28% in Jackson.
Forecasters emphasize that the possibility of Halloween rainfall remains uncertain. Recent forecast trends suggest the approaching rain could be delayed until Sunday, November 1, potentially allowing Saturday evening activities to remain dry.
Families planning trick or treating, outdoor festivals or other Halloween celebrations should continue monitoring forecast updates as the weekend approaches.
For now, the National Weather Service expects an extended stretch of mild autumn weather, with limited rainfall opportunities until the Halloween weekend.
