SPARTANBURG, S.C. — November will begin with a quick warmup across Upstate South Carolina, with Spartanburg temperatures climbing from the mid 60s Sunday into the 70s Monday through Saturday before a wetter period develops Wednesday night and Thursday.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a high near 65 Sunday, Nov. 1, with only a slight chance of rain during the morning. Temperatures rise to around 70 Monday before reaching approximately 74 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
70s Take Over Monday Sunday remains cloudy after the early rain chance, with temperatures falling to around 50 Sunday night.
Monday turns mostly sunny with a high near 70, followed by another mostly sunny day Tuesday and a high around 74. Tuesday night stays mild near 56.
Wednesday remains warm with a high near 74, although clouds increase and a 30% chance of rain develops during the afternoon.
That gives Spartanburg a clear early November warming trend: 65 Sunday, 70 Monday and 74 Tuesday through Thursday.
Rain Becomes Likely Nov. 4–5 The more meaningful weather change arrives Wednesday night.
Rain becomes likely mainly after 1 a.m., with precipitation chances increasing to 60% and temperatures only falling to around 59.
Thursday remains wet, with rain likely mainly before 1 p.m. and another 60% precipitation chance . Despite the rain, temperatures stay mild with a high near 74.
Rain chances decrease to 30% Thursday night and remain around 30% Friday, when the high reaches approximately 75. Friday night trends drier, followed by mostly sunny skies Saturday and a high near 73.
Warm November Pattern Remains the Larger Story The local forecast fits the broader November temperature pattern across the Southeast.
NOAA's November outlook generally leans warmer across the region. The separate Nov. 8–14 outlook also retains a warm tendency across much of the Southeast, although the signal weakens closer to the Atlantic Coast. The weather desk guidance therefore calls for careful localization rather than assuming every Southeast city has the same second week signal.
For Spartanburg, the verified first week forecast is strong enough to carry the story on its own: six consecutive days from Monday through Saturday are forecast in the 70s , with rain providing only a midweek interruption.
It remains too early for a specific Thanksgiving Day forecast on Nov. 26, but the mild opening to November is worth watching as South Carolina moves toward Thanksgiving and holiday travel season.
