Piedmont, SC – Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff 's Office GCSO are on the scene at Lakeside Park, located at 1500 Piedmont Highway, following a shooting that left two people injured on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Deputies were dispatched to the park shortly after 2:00 p.m. following a 911 call reporting gunfire.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered two victims, each suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officials described the injuries as non life threatening. The victims were evaluated by medical personnel as authorities began their initial sweep of the park area.
According to preliminary information provided by the Sheriff's Office, the incident allegedly followed a physical altercation between at least two people at the park. Investigators are currently working to identify the shooter and have not yet released details regarding the identities of those involved in the struggle.
