Easley, SC – A stabbing investigation in Pickens County left two people requiring medical treatment Sunday morning and led authorities on a vehicle pursuit into neighboring Greenville County, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the Pickens County Sheriff ’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 3:17 a.m. Sunday to a 911 call in the 1300 block of Highland Road in Easley. Deputies found a person suffering from apparent stab wounds to the upper torso. EMS transported that person to Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Investigators developed information about a possible suspect and issued a BOLO to surrounding law enforcement agencies. Easley police subsequently located a suspicious vehicle near the scene that matched the description associated with a possible suspect.
Police said the driver allegedly fled when officers attempted to make contact, prompting a vehicle pursuit involving Easley police and Pickens County deputies. The pursuit continued into Greenville County, where Greenville County sheriff’s deputies stopped the vehicle.
Authorities said the driver was arrested on driving related offenses.
Pickens County detectives obtained a search warrant for the incident location and later found another person who had allegedly been assaulted during the incident. That individual was transported to Easley Baptist Hospital for treatment.
Preliminary information indicates a social gathering was taking place at the location and that investigators believe a large amount of alcohol had been consumed. Detectives are working to identify everyone who attended and determine what criminal charges, if any, are appropriate.
