Columbia, SC – Drier, cooler autumn weather will settle across the Midlands and Central Savannah River Area early this week as clouds clear Monday afternoon following a rainy weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Columbia, skies are expected to begin clearing Monday afternoon, with highs ranging from the mid 70s to near 80 across the region. Overnight lows will generally fall into the 50s and lower 60s.
In Columbia, Monday's forecast calls for a high near 78 and a low around 57 under partly cloudy conditions. Sunshine is expected Tuesday, when the high drops to about 75 and the overnight low reaches 52.
Wednesday remains sunny in Columbia, with a high near 77 and a low around 61.
Conditions will be slightly warmer in Augusta, Georgia. The NWS three day outlook shows a Monday high near 80 and low around 61, followed by sunshine Tuesday with a high near 78 and low around 55.
Augusta is expected to reach about 80 again Wednesday, with an overnight low near 62.
The outlook represents a notable drying trend after the cloudy and rainy weekend. No rain is depicted for Columbia or Augusta in the three day forecast graphic, and the NWS post describes a drier air mass settling across the region.
