PITTSBURGH, PA – Residents across Pittsburgh and Allegheny County should prepare for a chilly Friday night before temperatures climb through the weekend, eventually reaching the lower 70s early next week as western Pennsylvania experiences another stretch of changing fall weather.
According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, Friday will bring mostly sunny skies and an afternoon high near 66 degrees. Northwest winds of 6 to 8 mph will accompany the relatively mild conditions.
However, temperatures will fall sharply after sunset, reaching approximately 40 degrees Friday night under partly cloudy skies.
North winds around 6 mph will become calm during the evening, setting up a chilly start to Saturday.
Weekend Temperatures Begin to Rebound
Saturday will bring partly sunny skies and an afternoon high near 64 degrees, with light winds becoming northeasterly around 5 mph.
Saturday night will turn increasingly cloudy, with temperatures falling to approximately 47 degrees.
By Sunday, temperatures are expected to climb to around 69 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
A slight chance of showers develops Sunday night after 2 a.m., although the precipitation probability remains relatively low at 20%.
Warmer Weather Arrives Tuesday
Monday will bring partly sunny conditions and a high near 67 degrees, followed by overnight temperatures around 50 degrees.
Tuesday is expected to be one of the warmer days in the extended forecast, with partly sunny skies and temperatures reaching approximately 72 degrees.
Wednesday could also reach 72 degrees, although the chance of showers increases to 30%.
Rain chances rise further Wednesday night to 40%, followed by a 60% chance of showers Thursday.
For Pittsburgh and surrounding Allegheny County communities, the immediate forecast favors a largely dry weekend, chilly overnight temperatures and a noticeable warmup heading into next week.
Residents planning Friday evening activities should keep jackets available, while those with outdoor plans later in the week should monitor updated rain forecasts.
