According to the National Weather Service, Philadelphia faces a 100% chance of precipitation Sunday, with rainfall continuing into the overnight hours. Thunderstorms could develop overnight, bringing additional downpours before conditions improve Monday.
Sunday's forecast calls for a high near 67 degrees, with easterly winds between 10 and 15 mph. Gusts could reach 25 mph.
Forecasters expect rainfall totals between three quarters of an inch and one inch during the day, with additional rainfall possible overnight.
Rain Could Disrupt Sunday Travel
Motorists traveling Interstate 95, Interstate 76 and other major Philadelphia routes should prepare for wet pavement and reduced visibility during heavier rainfall.
