Philadelphia, PA — Residents across southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey can expect a mild start to the week, although patchy fog could create reduced visibility overnight Monday, Nov. 2, and into Tuesday morning before sunshine and warmer temperatures return.
According to the National Weather Service in Philadelphia/Mount Holly, high pressure will maintain generally calm and dry conditions across the region, with southerly winds bringing warmer than normal temperatures Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Patchy Fog Could Affect Tuesday Morning Travel
Forecasters say clear skies are expected Monday night, but localized fog could develop in some areas and persist into Tuesday morning.
The fog may temporarily reduce visibility for motorists, particularly in locations where moisture collects overnight.
Drivers traveling during the early morning commute should remain alert for changing visibility, use low beam headlights when necessary and allow additional stopping distance.
Widespread dense fog has not been forecast in the supplied outlook.
Temperatures Climb Toward 70 Degrees Tuesday
Monday night's temperatures will remain seasonably mild, with overnight lows near 45 degrees in Philadelphia and around 41 degrees in Trenton.
Other communities could experience temperatures in the lower 40s, while coastal locations may remain warmer.
By Tuesday afternoon, sunshine and southerly winds will help temperatures climb above typical early November levels.
Philadelphia and surrounding communities are forecast to reach around 70 degrees, with portions of southern New Jersey also approaching or exceeding that mark.
Quiet Weather Expected Across the Region
The National Weather Service attributes the pleasant conditions to high pressure, including a Bermuda high influencing the region's weather pattern.
This system will help maintain dry conditions and support the arrival of a milder air mass.
Residents should prepare for cooler early morning temperatures followed by a noticeably warmer afternoon.
No significant storms or widespread hazardous weather are indicated in the current outlook.
