Philadelphia, PA – Warmer than normal weather could extend into the beginning of November across Philadelphia and much of Pennsylvania, according to a new federal outlook showing a broad temperature pattern favoring mild conditions during the final days of October. The outlook suggests that fall warmth could linger across southeastern Pennsylvania, even as cooler nights become increasingly common.
According to NOAA's Climate Prediction Center, the eight to 14 day outlook issued Oct. 18 covers Monday, Oct. 26, through Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026 . The temperature map favors above normal conditions across Pennsylvania, while the accompanying precipitation outlook points toward below normal precipitation across much of the state.
Above Normal Temperatures Favored Into November NOAA's temperature outlook places Philadelphia and southeastern Pennsylvania within a region showing approximately a 50% to 60% probability of above normal temperatures during the seven day period.
The favored warmth extends across Montgomery, Bucks, Delaware and Chester counties, as well as neighboring portions of southern New Jersey.
Farther west, much of central and western Pennsylvania also falls within the above normal temperature category, with the signal appearing stronger in some inland areas.
The outlook describes average temperatures across the entire period rather than specific daily highs. It does not guarantee unusually warm afternoons every day or rule out chilly overnight temperatures.
For Philadelphia residents, the signal is notable because late October and early November typically bring cooler afternoons, shorter daylight hours and increasingly cold mornings.
Philadelphia Forecast Calls for Sunshine This Week Before the extended outlook begins, the National Weather Service is forecasting several days of sunshine and seasonably cool temperatures across Philadelphia.
Monday, Oct. 19, is expected to be sunny with a high near 65 degrees, followed by a partly cloudy night with temperatures dropping to approximately 48 degrees.
Tuesday brings mostly sunny skies and a high near 67 degrees. North winds around 10 mph could produce gusts as high as 20 mph.
Wednesday is forecast to be sunny with a high near 64 degrees, followed by a mostly clear night with a low around 45 degrees.
Thursday should bring another sunny afternoon with temperatures reaching approximately 67 degrees.
The forecast then calls for highs near 61 degrees Friday, 60 degrees Saturday and 64 degrees Sunday.
These daily temperatures apply to Oct. 19–25 and should not be interpreted as specific conditions for the later Oct. 26–Nov. 1 outlook.
Below Normal Precipitation Also Favored NOAA's precipitation outlook places much of Pennsylvania within an area favoring below normal precipitation during Oct. 26–Nov. 1.
Across southeastern Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, the national map indicates approximately a 33% to 40% probability of below normal precipitation.
The drier signal extends across central Pennsylvania, while portions of western Pennsylvania show somewhat stronger probabilities.
For residents planning outdoor events, commuting or late season activities, the combination of favored warmth and below normal precipitation may be encouraging.
However, the outlook does not guarantee a rain free week. Individual rainfall chances, temperature swings and travel conditions will become clearer as shorter range forecasts are issued.
The broader takeaway is that Pennsylvania may enter November with temperatures running above seasonal averages, rather than experiencing a sustained transition toward colder weather.
Would you welcome another stretch of warmer fall weather in Philadelphia, or are you ready for colder November temperatures?
