Perry County, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are renewing their appeal for information in a nearly 16 year old homicide investigation involving a Mississippi woman whose skeletal remains were discovered near a central Pennsylvania highway in 2010. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that helps solve the case.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop H in Newport, investigators continue searching for answers in the death of Teresa Mae Ware, a resident of Hinds County, Mississippi.
Ware's last known communication occurred April 12, 2010, at the TA Truck Stop in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
Months later, in September 2010, her skeletal remains were discovered near the westbound lanes of Route 22/322 in Perry County, approximately 2.5 miles east of the Newport exit, west of Harrisburg.
Investigation Remains Unsolved After 16 Years
Despite the passage of more than a decade and a half, authorities continue investigating Ware's death as a homicide.
Police have not identified a suspect in the information provided with the renewed appeal, nor have they disclosed additional details about the circumstances surrounding her death.
The case connects multiple locations, including Bloomsburg, Perry County and Ware's home state of Mississippi.
$5,000 Reward Offered for Information
Pennsylvania State Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that helps solve the case.
Investigators are urging anyone with knowledge of Ware's movements, contacts or circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death to come forward.
Information can be submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police Tips program by calling 1 800 472 8477 or visiting the department's online tip submission portal.
Authorities say tipsters may qualify for cash rewards when information assists in solving an unsolved crime. The reward program is not funded by taxpayers.
The investigation remains open, and police continue seeking information that could help bring answers to Ware's family.
