Meadville, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are offering a $2,000 reward for information that helps solve the disappearance of a Crawford County woman who vanished more than four years ago, as investigators continue examining the case as a possible homicide.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop E in Meadville, Debra Sue Daniel was 61 when she disappeared August 13, 2022, from Meadville, approximately 40 miles south of Erie.
Daniel lived at Holland Towers, an apartment building in Meadville, and maintained frequent telephone contact with friends and family.
She regularly visited her mother at Edinboro Manor, a nursing home in Edinboro.
Investigators say Daniel was last seen leaving Holland Towers with a man known to her.
Authorities later determined that the man traveled with Daniel to State Game Lands 69 sometime after they left the apartment building.
Police initially received information suggesting Daniel had been seen at Edinboro Manor on August 15, 2022. However, investigators subsequently determined that report was incorrect.
Authorities say Daniel never arrived at the nursing home on August 13 or afterward.
Family members expressed concern because Daniel would not ordinarily stop contacting loved ones or leave her apartment without personal belongings.
Investigators also reported no activity involving her Social Security number, financial accounts or social media.
Pennsylvania State Police have opened a homicide investigation , while Meadville City Police continue their active missing person investigation.
Daniel was described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair when she disappeared.
She was last seen wearing a navy blue shirt, dark pants and black shoes.
