Meadville, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are renewing their appeal for information in the disappearance of a Crawford County woman who vanished more than four years ago, with a $2,000 reward being advertised as investigators continue a homicide investigation connected to the case.
According to Pennsylvania State Police and the Meadville City Police Department , Debra Sue Daniel was 61 when she disappeared August 13, 2022, from Holland Towers, an apartment building in Meadville, south of Erie.
Investigators say Daniel was last seen leaving her apartment with a man she knew, entering a vehicle and departing the area.
She has not been seen or heard from since.
Police initially received information suggesting Daniel may have visited Edinboro Manor on August 15, 2022. Investigators later determined that report was inaccurate and that she had not arrived there on August 13 or afterward.
Authorities also discovered that the man seen leaving with Daniel traveled with her to State Game Lands 69 at some point after departing Holland Towers.
Family members told investigators Daniel regularly contacted loved ones and frequently visited her mother at a nursing home in Edinboro.
Her sudden disappearance was considered highly unusual, particularly because she left behind personal belongings and showed no subsequent activity involving her Social Security number, financial accounts or social media.
Daniel was described as 5 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with green eyes and brown hair.
She was last seen wearing a navy blue short sleeve shirt, dark pants and black shoes with thick white soles.
Although the case remains an active missing person investigation, state police confirmed that information uncovered during the investigation prompted a separate homicide investigation.
Authorities have not publicly confirmed Daniel's death or announced an arrest in the supplied release.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Trooper Geibel at 814 332 6911, the Meadville Police Department at 814 724 2985, or Pennsylvania State Police Tips at 1 800 472 8477.
Even seemingly minor information could help investigators resolve the case.
