Lower Alsace Township, PA – Pennsylvania State Police are seeking information in the unsolved stabbing death of a 44 year old man found dead in Berks County in 2006, with a $5,000 reward being offered for information that solves the case.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop L in Reading, Michael Jones, also known as “Florida Mike,” was found dead in Lower Alsace Township on July 17, 2006. Police said Jones suffered multiple stab wounds.
Investigators said Jones was last seen alive three days earlier, on July 14, 2006, in Reading, also in Berks County. The information released by PSP Tips did not identify a suspect or provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding Jones’ death.
Nearly two decades after the killing, investigators continue to seek information that could help determine what happened and identify those responsible.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that solves the case, according to the PSP Tips notice. Pennsylvania State Police said tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward when information leads to an arrest, helps solve a crime or cold case, or assists authorities in locating a wanted or missing person.
