McMinnville, OR – An Oregon bookkeeper has been arrested following an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of more than $1.1 million from a construction and irrigation company, with authorities now urging other potential victims to come forward.
According to the Yamhill County Sheriff 's Office, Lauri Lynn O'Connor, 65, of Sherwood, allegedly diverted company funds over approximately seven years, from 2018 through 2025, while employed as a bookkeeper.
The investigation began in July 2026 after investigators with Portland based forensic accounting firm Morones Analytics contacted the sheriff's office regarding suspected financial misconduct at Milroy Golf Systems.
Investigators Uncover Alleged Seven Year Scheme Authorities allege O'Connor used several methods to misappropriate company funds, including creating fraudulent invoices, falsifying QuickBooks accounting entries, making unauthorized employee draws and forging company checks.
Investigators say some checks were deposited directly into her personal bank account.
O'Connor's employment was terminated in October 2025.
On Oct. 28, 2026, investigators presented their findings to a Yamhill County grand jury, which indicted O'Connor on 17 counts involving first degree aggravated theft and falsifying business records.
Arrest Made as Authorities Seek Potential Victims On Thursday, Nov. 5, detectives located O'Connor at her Sherwood residence and arrested her.
She was transported to the Yamhill County Correctional Facility.
Authorities said O'Connor has advertised herself online as a professional bookkeeper, QuickBooks ProAdvisor, Oregon notary and licensed tax preparer under the business name LLO Bookkeeping & Payroll Inc.
Because of her access to financial records and accounting software, investigators are concerned other businesses or individuals may have experienced similar losses.
Anyone who previously employed or worked with O'Connor and suspects financial misconduct is encouraged to contact law enforcement.
Yamhill County residents and businesses can contact Detective Sgt. Jacob Herr at herrj@yamhillcounty.gov or call nonemergency dispatch at 503 434 6500 .
The allegations have not been proven in court, and O'Connor is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
