Astoria, OR – As November 2026 approaches, residents along Oregon's northern coast have a surprising reminder of how unpredictable late fall weather can be. Astoria recorded more than 7 inches of rain during November 2025, yet the month still ranked among the driest Novembers in more than a century of local weather records.
According to National Weather Service climate statistics, Astoria received 7.39 inches of precipitation during November 2025, approximately 3.66 inches below normal. The month ranked as the 31st driest November in 138 years of records.
Despite the below normal rainfall total, measurable precipitation occurred on 22 days, illustrating how frequently wet conditions can develop along the Oregon coast.
Warmer Temperatures Accompanied the Rain November 2025 also brought above normal temperatures to Astoria.
The monthly average reached 49.8 degrees, approximately 2.9 degrees above normal, ranking as the 16th warmest November in 137 years of temperature records.
Temperatures ranged from a high of 65 degrees to a low of 35 degrees, a 30 degree difference between the month's warmest and coldest readings.
No temperatures at or below freezing were recorded during the month.
Rainfall Remained Frequent Despite the Deficit Astoria's wettest November day produced 0.95 inches of precipitation.
Although rainfall occurred frequently, the monthly total remained substantially below the area's historical November average.
For residents across Clatsop County and the northern Oregon coast, the figures highlight how persistent rain does not necessarily translate into above normal monthly precipitation.
Wet roads, reduced visibility and changing temperatures remain important considerations for travelers along U.S. Highway 101 and U.S. Highway 30.
What November 2025 Means Heading Into 2026 These statistics represent historical observations, not a forecast for November 2026.
However, they demonstrate how coastal weather can remain rainy while overall precipitation falls below seasonal expectations.
Residents should prepare for changing temperatures, wet roads and periods of heavier rainfall as the late fall season approaches.
Astoria's November 2025 records offer a reminder that even relatively warm, dry months can bring frequent rainy days along Oregon's coast.
