Wilmington, OH – Ohio residents are facing a significant weather change Tuesday, Nov. 3, as unusually warm temperatures approaching 76 degrees give way to widespread rainfall and scattered thunderstorms Wednesday, with rain chances reaching 99% across several communities.
According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, an upper level low pressure system moving northeast through the Upper Midwest will bring widespread showers and a few thunderstorms Wednesday, Nov. 4, across parts of central, southwestern and west central Ohio.
Rain Chances Reach 99% Wednesday The latest forecast shows an exceptionally high probability of precipitation across the region.
Rain chances reach 99% around Wilmington, Columbus, Marysville, Brookville and Chillicothe, while Dayton and Richmond are near 97% to 98%. Newark faces approximately a 95% chance of precipitation.
Forecast rainfall totals generally range from 0.25 to 1 inch, depending on location.
Communities including Dayton, Columbus, Wilmington, Chillicothe and Marysville could receive between half an inch and 1 inch of rainfall.
The widespread precipitation could create wet roadways and reduced visibility during Wednesday's morning and evening commutes, particularly along Interstate 70, Interstate 71 and Interstate 75.
Temperatures Drop After Unusual Warmth Before the rain arrives, Tuesday will feature exceptionally warm conditions, with regional temperatures climbing to approximately 76 degrees.
Wednesday's temperatures are expected to remain relatively mild, reaching the upper 60s before more seasonable conditions settle in later in the week.
By Friday and Saturday, forecast temperatures trend cooler, with daytime readings generally in the 40s and 50s at times and overnight temperatures dropping further.
The National Weather Service has not indicated a widespread severe thunderstorm outbreak in the provided outlook, although a few thunderstorms remain possible Wednesday.
Residents should prepare for wet travel conditions and monitor updated forecasts as the system approaches.
