Cleveland, OH – Light showers will move east across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania overnight, mainly near Lake Erie, before ending early Thursday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, a warm front lifting north across the region will bring a chance of rain from late Wednesday afternoon through the overnight hours. Most locations are expected to receive around one tenth of an inch of rain or less.
Rain chances vary across the region. The Weather Service forecast shows a 40% chance around Cleveland, 36% near Toledo and 33% near Sandusky. Farther south, chances fall to 22% near Akron, 18% around Mansfield and 16% near Canton.
The chance increases farther east along and near the Lake Erie shoreline. Ashtabula has about a 45% chance of rain, while Erie, Pennsylvania, reaches 52%. Meadville is near 45%, while Youngstown has about a 26% chance.
Forecasters expect showers to generally remain concentrated along the lakeshore as they progress eastward through the evening and overnight.
Rain should reach northwest Pennsylvania later in the period before ending there by early Thursday morning.
No significant rainfall accumulation is expected from this round, with overnight totals generally around 0.10 inches or less.
After the warm front passes, Thursday is expected to turn warmer and dry during the daytime. Residents across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania can expect the brief shower chances to diminish from west to east overnight, leaving improved conditions by Thursday morning.
