Cleveland, OH – A cold front approaching northern Ohio will bring breezy conditions Wednesday, Oct. 7, followed by a noticeable cooldown Wednesday night into Thursday, when some locations could fall into the upper 30s.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, Wednesday will be mostly sunny and breezy with highs ranging from 70 to 78 degrees. Wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph are expected, with localized gusts potentially reaching 30 mph.
The front will usher in cooler air Wednesday night. Lows are forecast to range from 48 to 58 degrees before daytime temperatures settle into the 60s and lower 70s Thursday.
Thursday will remain mostly sunny, with highs from 63 to 72 degrees. The colder air becomes more apparent Thursday night, when temperatures are forecast to drop to between 39 and 50 degrees across the NWS Cleveland forecast area.
That means the coolest locations could fall roughly 30 degrees from Wednesday afternoon's warmest readings to Thursday night's lowest temperatures, although those extremes represent different locations across the broader region.
Dry and mild weather continues Friday. Mostly sunny skies are expected with highs ranging from 65 to 72 degrees and nighttime lows of 43 to 53.
The NWS expects dry weather to persist through the end of the workweek. No frost or freeze alert is indicated in the outlook provided, despite the potential for upper 30s temperatures in some locations.
The next weather change is expected later in the weekend, when rain chances increase. Until then, residents should expect Wednesday's breeze to ease behind the front, followed by cooler nights and predominantly dry conditions through Friday.
