Cleveland, OH – The remnants of Hurricane Isaias are expected to bring moderate to heavy rainfall and gusty winds to portions of northern Ohio late Saturday, Oct. 10, through Sunday, with rainfall totals generally ranging from 0.50 to 1.50 inches.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, the remnants will move through the Ohio Valley Saturday night into Sunday, bringing relatively minor impacts across the forecast area.
Rain is expected to begin around midnight Saturday night and continue through Sunday, when the most noticeable weather impacts are anticipated.
Forecasters expect southeast winds Sunday, with gusts reaching 25 to 35 mph across portions of the region.
Although moderate to heavy rainfall is possible, the National Weather Service indicated that flooding should be extremely localized, primarily affecting urban locations and areas with poor drainage.
The forecast rainfall map, valid through 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, shows widespread precipitation across northern Ohio, with amounts varying by location.
Most areas are expected to receive between one half inch and 1.5 inches of rain, although the distribution of heavier rainfall could vary as the remnants move through the region.
The National Weather Service emphasized that overall impacts should remain very minor despite the tropical origins of the approaching weather system.
Residents planning Sunday travel or outdoor activities should prepare for periods of rain and breezy conditions, particularly during the daytime hours.
Motorists should remain alert for localized water accumulation in urban areas and avoid driving through flooded roadways.
The forecast does not indicate widespread flooding or significant wind damage across the Cleveland forecast area.
The next period to watch is late Saturday night through Sunday, when rain and southeast wind gusts are expected to be most noticeable before the system moves away.
