Davidson County, NC – A resident of Advance, North Carolina, is facing drug related charges following a traffic stop conducted by the Davidson County Sheriff 's Office on Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Jesse James, 26, was taken into custody after law enforcement officials initiated a stop on a 2004 Ford Expedition near the intersection of N. NC 150 and Hickory Tree Road in Winston Salem.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff 's Office, the department’s T.R.A.C.E. team was responsible for the enforcement action. During the course of the investigation, deputies allegedly discovered fentanyl and various items of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Consequently, James was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Following the arrest, authorities determined that James was already on pretrial release for separate matters.
Due to this status, he has been held without bond. He is currently awaiting a scheduled appearance in Davidson County court later this month.
