Stokesdale, NC – A Rockingham County man faces multiple charges Wednesday after deputies say he allegedly assaulted people at a Stokesdale residence using bear spray, a bat and a vehicle.
According to the Rockingham County Sheriff ’s Office, patrol deputies were dispatched Wednesday to 174 Foxtrot Lane in Stokesdale for a reported disturbance and possible assault. Deputies said they learned a suspect had allegedly assaulted people at the residence with bear spray and a bat and had struck them with a vehicle.
Authorities also allege the suspect used his vehicle to damage property at the residence. Rockingham County Emergency Medical Services treated the victims for their injuries, the sheriff’s office said. The agency did not provide additional details about the severity of those injuries.
Deputy C. Pyrtle obtained warrants for 34 year old Timothy Seth Williams, according to the sheriff’s office, but deputies initially could not locate him.
Later Wednesday morning, Deputy J. McCollum responded to a Mineral Springs Road address in Madison regarding a possible overdose. Authorities said the person involved had reportedly left the area on foot and was identified as Williams.
The sheriff’s office said Williams later returned to the residence, where McCollum took him into custody.
Williams was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, assault on a female, simple assault, injury to personal property and injury to real property. The charges are allegations, and Williams is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Authorities said Williams was taken before a Rockingham County magistrate, issued a $20,000 secured bond and placed in the Rockingham County Detention Facility.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026 .
