Rockingham, NC – The Rockingham County Sheriff & 39;s Office announced it will not host its annual event this year, choosing instead to join the faculty and staff of Rockingham Community College for their upcoming 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. The gathering is scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026.
According to the department, the ceremony will feature special guest speaker Nicole Boswell, a survivor of the World Trade Center attacks. The event is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Advanced Technologies Building Auditorium, located at 560 County Home Road.
Organizers say the event is designed to honor the lives lost, remember the heroes who served, and reflect on the strength and unity of the nation. The public is invited to attend the commemoration.
