Raleigh, NC – Clouds and patchy fog will give way to increasing sunshine across central North Carolina Monday, Oct. 5, with afternoon temperatures climbing into the mid 70s.
According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, skies will gradually clear during the day, becoming mostly sunny by late afternoon. Raleigh is forecast to reach 76 degrees, with northerly winds around 5 to 10 mph.
Greensboro is also expected to reach 76 degrees Monday. Fayetteville will be slightly cooler, with a forecast high of 74.
Conditions remain quiet Monday night as temperatures fall into the low to mid 50s. Raleigh is forecast to reach a low near 54, while Greensboro falls to around 52 and Fayetteville to about 56.
Winds will become light overnight, generally from the northeast at 5 mph or less across the three cities.
The NWS update does not highlight significant rain, thunderstorms or hazardous weather for central North Carolina Monday. The primary change will be the gradual transition from morning clouds and localized fog to sunnier conditions later in the day.
Residents should expect reduced visibility in spots where patchy fog develops early Monday. Otherwise, conditions will improve as the morning progresses, with mostly sunny skies expected by late afternoon before a clear and cooler night.
