Madison, NC – A Stoneville man faces three felony charges after investigators linked him to the theft of approximately $5,000 worth of braided copper wire from a Rockingham County business near the Greensboro area.
According to the Rockingham County Sheriff ’s Office, deputies received a report July 28 that braided copper wire had been stolen from Respolytex, a business located on C Fork Road in Madison.
Authorities said the stolen copper was valued at approximately $5,000.
Following an investigation, deputies charged and arrested 28 year old Christopher Alan Taylor of Stoneville on Tuesday.
Taylor was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny and felony conspiracy, according to the sheriff’s office. The charges are allegations, and Taylor is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
After his arrest, Taylor was taken before a Rockingham County magistrate. Authorities said he was issued no bond and is being held pending further court proceedings.
Taylor is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County court on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026 .
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains ongoing. Investigators believe additional people may have been involved in the incident and said more charges could be filed as the case develops.
Authorities did not provide additional details about how the copper wire was allegedly removed from the business or whether any of the stolen material has been recovered.
Sheriff Billy Parker credited Investigator L. Pulliam for work on the case and said the department will continue investigating crimes affecting businesses and residents throughout Rockingham County.
No additional arrests had been announced in the sheriff’s office release.
