Lexington, NC – A Lewisville man has been arrested following a yearlong fraud investigation in Davidson County after authorities allege a victim was defrauded of more than $21,000.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff 's Office, investigators began looking into the case in October 2025 after receiving a report from a citizen. Detectives subsequently identified 46 year old Kyle Seth Deskins of Lewisville as the suspect.
Authorities allege Deskins defrauded the victim of at least $21,003.42. The Sheriff's Office did not provide additional information about the alleged transactions or explain how investigators believe the money was obtained.
On Tuesday, detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff's Office arrested Deskins with assistance from the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office. He was taken into custody on warrants charging him with two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.
Deskins was taken before a Davidson County magistrate, who set his bond at $2,000 secured. He was then placed in the Davidson County Detention Center.
The Sheriff's Office said Deskins was scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
Under North Carolina law, judicial officials determine conditions of release for people involved in court proceedings. The Sheriff's Office noted that law enforcement officers do not set bond amounts.
The allegations remain pending in court. Deskins is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Authorities did not announce additional arrests or identify the alleged victim in the case.
