Winston Salem, NC – Residents are being urged to exercise caution regarding official looking mail that demands payment for property records. The Forsyth County Sheriff 's Office has received reports of individuals receiving letters that claim to originate from the County Property Records Office.
According to the Forsyth County Sheriff 's Office, these communications are fraudulent. The letters allegedly solicit money from homeowners by requesting fees for copies of property deeds. The office clarified that these requests are not legitimate and should be treated as a scam.
