Green Bay, Wis. – A round of midweek storms could disrupt travel and outdoor plans across northeast Wisconsin beginning Wednesday afternoon — just ahead of the July 4th weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Green Bay, a 30% chance of thunderstorms begins after 1 p.m. Wednesday across the region, with a second wave likely overnight between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. Conditions remain unsettled through Saturday, with daily chances for storms and showers potentially impacting barbecues, fireworks, and road travel — especially along I-41 and US-141.

Green Bay residents can expect sunny skies and a high of 86°F on Wednesday before clouds build and storms develop. Thunderstorm chances continue Thursday (20%) and Friday (40%), increasing to 50% Saturday — which could bring heavier rain and gusty winds.

Motorists should stay alert for changing road conditions and reduced visibility during storms, particularly on rural highways in Brown, Outagamie, and Shawano counties. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible.

Though severe weather isn’t currently expected, outdoor plans should remain flexible through the holiday. Stay weather-aware and have a backup location for gatherings and fireworks.

⚠️ What’s Next: The storm pattern may persist into Sunday. More updates are expected if severe weather potential increases.
