Dodge County, WI – A 22-year-old motorcyclist remains hospitalized after a serious crash in Oak Grove, according to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the crash happened around 2:04 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, when a 2025 Kawasaki motorcycle traveling northbound on County Highway A lost control after passing several vehicles. The motorcycle left the roadway near County Highway S, striking a culvert and going airborne before colliding with a tree.
According to investigators, the driver, identified as Karter Schwartz of rural Beaver Dam, was wearing a helmet at the time. He was flown from the scene by Flight for Life to Aurora Summit Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities said he was later arrested for suspicion of impairment.
No other injuries were reported in the crash. Emergency crews from Juneau Fire Department, Horicon Fire Department, Beaver Dam EMS, Juneau EMS, Horicon EMS, and Flight for Life all assisted at the scene.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team continues to investigate.
